Radiant earrings -- iguazu
A very promising tangent and honestly a delightful use for some tiny bits of chain that inevitably happen when you purchase it by the foot.
One of a few styles in this collection, all of them feature these delicate etched lines carved into the copper and visible through the transparent enamel. In this case, this pattern is visible in the horseshoe shaped enamel piece.
This particular style gets its semi-obscure name from a song, The Suspension Bridge at Iguazu Falls, by the Chicago post-rock band, Tortoise, in reference to the suspended chains hanging from the copper. Like the song, they’re elegant and peaceful and there’s something calming about noticing them swing as you stroll.
Chains are commercially sourced but not always well or accurately labeled by manufacturers. I believe they’re all brass, some with antiqued finishes. Some of these chains have been stored for years and I haven’t noticed any tarnishing or color change, but still, I’d use caution and only use gentle cleaners if necessary.
Backs are counter-enameled with a variegated clear enamel that ranges from terra cotta to pink and oxidized green and black.
All pairs shown are ON HAND and READY TO SHIP.
