Green winged macaw earrings
Two color/shape studies I created for a collaboration with the National Aviary, here in Pittsburgh’s historic North Side/Allegheny City.
Made from repurposed, hand cut roofing copper.
Parallelograms are 1.5” at the tallest point with folded tips.
Rectangles are about 2.5” long. Small indentation/cut out is where the roofing copper was bent and eroded after who knows how many years of rainfall rolling down the copper roof flashing. It may seem like an imperfection, but I think it’s a mark of this piece of metal’s history.
Inspired by the scarlet, green wing macaw!

Backs are counter-enameled and huffalo stamped.
