Blue skies ahead -- earrings
As part of the FRAGMENT series, these long rectangular earrings feature not only scrap copper, but also utilize scrap enamel from my community art teaching practice. When we do wet-inlay enameling for the cloisonné process, there’s often a bit of enamel that goes unused, but can’t just be recycled back into the main container either. Small pieces like this are the perfect means to explore color combinations, and to use up material that might otherwise get discarded.
Copper has been enameled with a range of silvery-translucent, aqua, white, and raspberry pink enamels. Small horizon lines in 24k gold—this layer is melted into the glass on a final, special-temperature firing, so it’s a permanent feature that adds just a touch of glimmer that reveals itself in bright light.
2” long x 3/8” wide.
Backs are counter-enameled with a warm copper pink with smoky black oxidation.
Shown with sterling ear wires (more options available at checkout).
ON HAND and READY TO SHIP.
