Fragment 002 (basket of stars) -- earrings
From the FRAGMENT series, revisited. Like a magpie drawn to shiny treasures, I can’t help but rescue discarded scrap pieces from teaching endeavors. Rolled, sawed, soldered, enameled, enameled again until they’re just right. Even a majority of the enamels themselves are repurposed from students’ projects. My devotion to avoiding waste is perhaps a form of light madness, but it’s also a continual stream of inspiration.
2” long x about 0.5” wide hand sawed rectangular copper earrings.
Star stampings shimmer beneath translucent silvery enamel with some smoky oxidation. Roll printed textured brass. Pieces are connected with a brass jump ring and ear wires (as shown) are sterling silver. Huffalo stamped!
*Backs of earrings feature bonus yellow and raspberry pink abstraction!
